I'm a single parent of a special needs child based in Downtown Asheville, North Carolina. We need immediate access to funds, housing, and medical support after Hurricane Helene.

***Update as of 11/3/2024***

While we were safely able to evacuate the city following the storm, we are still in urgent need of support. I am now unemployed indefinitely while healing from a chemical burn that I acquired after clearing debris. We are currently unable to stay in our home near downtown Asheville. I am asking for additional funds to support our family while I am unemployed, in addition to funds to help us safely relocate permanently outside the city limits. I will provide further details below for anyone who may be interested in learning more about our family's specific needs.

We are safe, but most of the city is currently without power, water, internet, or cell service. I have no idea how long I will be unable to work as this crisis continues to unfold. Any financial support is absolutely critical as we make a plan to find a safe place to stay and begin rebuilding our lives. We are leaving most of our belongings behind. We have no idea when we will return and will be leaving with basic necessities only. Thank you to everyone for all of your support.
