Emergency Earthquake Relief for Myanmar - UWEMSS

We are the University of the West of England Myanmar Student Society (UWEMSS), a student-led community that represents and supports Myanmar students at UWE Bristol, a university based in the UK. Our society is committed to promoting cultural exchange and supporting our fellow Myanmar students here in the UK, especially during times of crisis.

In light of the recent devastating earthquake that affected Myanmar, we are coming together to raise funds and provide emergency relief for the people of Myanmar. The earthquake has left countless families without shelter, basic supplies, and access to medical care. With the funds raised, we aim to deliver essential aid, including food, clean water, and temporary shelter to the communities in need.

We are partnering with Better Burma, a registered US-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit humanitarian organization. They were carefully selected for their proven ability to deliver aid directly to trusted local communities and grassroots groups on the ground in the local communities.

The funds raised will be used in the following way:

Delivery of essential aid such as food, water, and medical supplies to the most affected areas.

Temporary shelter for displaced families, in partnership with trusted local organizations.

Coordinating with local charities and community groups to ensure aid reaches those who need it most.

As members of the UWE Myanmar Student Society, we are committed to ensuring every donation is used directly to support those impacted by this disaster. We will provide updates on our social media after our event on the 4th of April on how the funds are being allocated and the progress of our efforts.

We are reaching out to our friends, family, alumni, and the wider community to join us in this urgent mission. Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a direct impact and provide hope to those who are struggling to rebuild their lives. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.
