Emergency Earthquake Appeal - Myanmar
Donation protected
My name is Christine Thuzar Lwin Lwin originally from Myanmar and I am Karen. I am also a member of Karen Baptist Church, operating under the Woodberry Down London Baptist Church, serves as a gathering place for Karen Christian families in the London area. Our church has been actively supporting relief efforts through the Baptist Mission in Myanmar, especially during the challenging years of the COVID-19 pandemic, the military coup, devastating floods, and now the recent earthquake.
On March 28th, a powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar, claiming thousands of lives and destroying tens of thousands of homes. The aftermath has left countless individuals struggling to rebuild their lives and their communities. Clean water, basic necessities such as shelter, food, medicine, and proper sanitation are now critical needs.
Unfortunately, the Myanmar Military continues to obstruct aid and essential goods from reaching the grassroots level. Despite this, numerous local faith-based organizations and humanitarian groups are tirelessly working to provide for those in desperate need. The military, rather than helping its people rebuild, has intensified its oppressive actions, even targeting areas affected by the earthquake.
Your generous donations can make a significant difference by empowering those on the ground to deliver life-saving aid and support. We urge everyone to extend kindness, compassion, and generosity in these trying times. As it is written, God loves a cheerful giver!
