Emergency Drinking Water for E Nusi Island, PNG

The community of E Nusi Island in Papua New Guinea is facing a drought unlike anything they have experienced before. Their rainwater catchments are dry, and their only well is turning saltier every day. Right now, the people who live on E Nusi have almost no fresh water.
I am working with the community to fund an emergency solution: a portable, solar-powered desalination unit that turns seawater into safe drinking water. It runs entirely on the sun, needs no fuel, and can be set up within hours of arriving.
What your donation buys:
- An Elemental Water Response EWR50 desalinator, producing about 50 liters of drinking water per hour
- A solar PowerBox (panels and battery) so it can run with no electricity on the island
- Shipping to PNG and transport to E Nusi

Goal: €18,000
This includes the unit itself (€12,500) and shipping costs/duties.
Viewers of Pole to Pole may already know that E Nusi faces an ongoing water shortage. I am working with them toward a sustainable long-term solution, but this is an emergency, and the community needs help to get through it now.
I will post updates as the unit is ordered, shipped and installed, with photos from the community.
Thank you for helping in any way you can, whether by donating or sharing this page.
