Emergency donations for veteran Marvel artist Thomas Tenney
Donazione protetta
Hello everyone. We want to start out by thanking you all so much for your continued kindness and support. Our struggle to deal with mounting bills and daily needs that are essential, like medications for Thomas' lung health, continue to take a toll.
Thomas has put so much into trying to keep our family together and strong through these crises, but our mountain to climb remains steep. And with Thomas’ COPD progressing to a new stage, it has become an endless struggle just to stay above water.
We are behind on our bills and the money to even put a meal on the table is almost gone. Currently we are eating as cheap as anyone possibly can. These types of meal aren't good when you have someone with failing health. Rent is coming up. And without a roof over our head we'll be living in the car. It isn't hard to imagine what toll that would take on Thomas. It's life threatening.
It's difficult to watch Thomas struggle with things most of us take for granted such as a good night's sleep. When he has a hard time breathing or catching his breath, it affects his heart rate to the point to the point that we have to monitor it so he doesn't go into cardiac arrest. He can no longer do conventions and only limited time appearances. That's a supplemental income that many comic creators usually have available to them, but no longer to Thomas. Its a scary time for Thonas and our family. There is no cure for COPD.
Thomas has been a comic book creator for close to 4 decades working for publishers like Marvel and DC. He also worked on the official adaptations of the beloved anime classic Robotech and science fiction franchise The Terminator. Thomas then moved into doing art for musicians like ACDC and for various TV shows. As some of you may be aware, however, an ever changing business landscape in the industry has made it much more difficult, even for experienced creators, to find steady work. And whatever was put up for a rainy day has been reduced to nothing due to the medical bills and family emergencies.
We know some of you have been able and willing to lend a hand in the past, either through donations or commissions for Thomas and we are forever grateful for show of support. It's a kindness that we find ourselves, very humbly asking for assistance from our friends, fans and those we consider family. We have set up this gofundme page, for anyone who is able to help financially. Thomas is also open for work and/or commissions.
And as always, we know things are tough all over and anything really helps. Again, from the bottom of our hearts we greatly appreciate support, your prayers and kind words.”
