EMERGENCY: DOG HIT BY A CAR NEEDS A MIRACLE
Doação protegida
Hi, my name is Kim Nigro, and I’m asking for help on behalf of a dog named Sinatra — a sweet, resilient soul who’s endured so much and is now fighting for a second chance.
SINATRA'S STORY:
Sinatra’s story is one no animal should ever have to live.
Sinatra was found on the streets of Texas after being hit by a car, likely dumped and left to fend for himself. He was taken to a local shelter — overwhelmed like so many others — where staff did their best to manage his pain and keep him comfortable. But with limited resources and no access to surgical care, all they could do was wait… and hope.
For two long weeks, Sinatra lived with a broken femur and multiple pelvic fractures, waiting for a rescue to step in. And that’s where Barking Back Rescue came in.
We brought Sinatra into our care and transported him to a foster home near Dallas, where he’s finally safe, loved, and resting. But now he needs specialized orthopedic surgery immediately to have any chance at walking again.
HERE'S WHAT SINATRA NEEDS:
Sinatra has an appt on 6/23/25 with Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center, where his orthopedic surgery is scheduled for that day. But the cost is more than we can manage alone, and we need to raise at least $7,000 in just 3 short days or we can not move forward with this life-changing/pain-relieving surgery.
Here’s what your donation will help cover:
$7,000 for orthopedic surgery to repair his broken bones
$2,500 for months of aftercare: pain medications, follow-ups, transport, crate rest, and rehabilitative therapy
This will be a long road — his recovery will take months — but he’s worth every minute, every mile, and every dollar.
WHY YOUR HELP MEANS EVERYTHING:
Despite being failed by humans at every turn, Sinatra is gentle, trusting, and still full of heart. He deserves this chance — not just to survive, but to truly live.
I am the Founder and Director of Barking Back Rescue, and I’ve been advocating for dogs like Sinatra since 2012. Over the years, I’ve helped countless people with medical emergencies, training support, and rescue efforts. My phone rings daily with questions and requests — and I always do my best to show up.
But this time, I can’t do it alone.
Sinatra is one of those dogs you don’t forget. Despite everything, he didn’t give up — and neither will we.
With your help, we can give him the surgery — and the pain-free future — he deserves.
