Sri Lanka Needs Us Now – A Message from The Tea Makers of London

While much of the world sees Black Friday as a time of deals and discounts, for the people of Sri Lanka, this past Friday brought something very different and deeply tragic natural disaster.

On Friday, powerful Cyclonic Ditwah swept across the country, leaving behind the most devastating destruction seen in over four decades. Torrential rains, landslides, and widespread flooding have impacted more than 90% of the island, with lives lost, homes destroyed, and entire communities displaced.

For us at The Tea Makers of London, this is deeply personal. Sri Lanka is not just where many of our most beloved teas come from, it is where our story began. It’s home to the farmers, workers, and communities we have worked with for generations.

Now, we are asking you, our tea-loving community, to join us in giving something back.

What Your Support Will Do

Thousands of families urgently need:

• Food and clean water

• Warm clothing and hygiene supplies

• Basic medical care

• Emergency shelter

• Long-term support to rebuild their lives

100% of the money raised through this campaign will be donated to the official Sri Lankan Government Disaster-Relief Fund, held by the Deputy Secretary to the Treasury at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. This fund ensures that your support goes directly to relief operations on the ground, reaching the people and places who need it most.
