Hi, my name is Jennille. Full Time Employment Advisor/Facilitator for a not for profit. I work hard and support myself financially all on my own, with no family or government supports.

some of you may know, but many may not, that I have been navigating a serious chronic eye health issue for the passed 10 years. For the past year, I have had 0% vision in my left eye, as the medication I have been taking has caused me a dense cataract that requires removal by laser in order to restore my vision.

the cost of laser surgery is $1000, the replacement lense cost is $200. Unfortunately neither are covered by my work insurance, even after asking for a special request with surgeon note and prescription for the laser surgery, I was denied. Which was unexpected and has put me in a time sensitive and vulnerable position as my surgery is today, Thursday January 25, 2024.

I am unable to pay for this surgery in addition to rent, bills and all additional medical costs I have accrued. This has put me in a very tight and unstable position financially and emotionally.

I am reaching out for support. Every dollar will be out towards paying off this surgery bill. I have 30 days to pay it from today’s date (being paid on a credit card)

My mom who is my biggest medical supporter, is in Trinidad attending the funeral of my aunty who passed away last week. So I’m navigating this all without any family due to these unforeseen circumstances
