Hello, my name is Natalie. I don’t typically ask for help or share matters publicly, but I’m reaching out due to an unexpected and frightening situation involving my cat, Mavis.

On Christmas Eve, Mavis escaped from my home and was found injured with multiple wounds along her lower back and sides. We are unsure if it involved another animal. One injury required staples, and multiple X-Rays to determine whether or not it punctured her chest area. She was running a dangerously high fever of 108 degrees.

Because of the severity of her condition, we had to visit two different vet clinics, followed by a 3 day stay in the emergency animal hospital after an infection developed. Thankfully, Mavis is now home and healing. She is currently on three medications and responding well to treatment! We are so proud of our baby bat<3.

The medical expenses accumulated very quickly and created a significant and unexpected financial strain. While I am incredibly grateful that Mavis is going to be okay, the cost of her emergency care has been overwhelming.
