Last year I had the privilege of travelling to Cambodia to help the 2H program (now rebranded as Every Mum) deliver an emergency care education program for local Midwives.

This was a fantastic experience for me both professionally and personally. Along with other Australian Midwives we spent a week sharing experiences, knowledge and skills on emergency care for pregnant women and their newborn babies.

This program makes such a difference. After last year’s newborn resuscitation session we had feedback from a local Midwife. She had put the skills she gained at that session into practice and successfully resuscitated a newborn. This is one of many stories highlighting the impact Every Mum has on improving care in Cambodia.

This November I am returning to Cambodia to help deliver this program to another group of local Midwives. Raising money is essential for Every Mum to continue the excellent work they have been doing for so many years. This money goes towards travel, accommodation and wages for local Midwives who would otherwise not be able to afford to have this education.
