Emergency Breast Reconstruction from Rupture

Donation protected
Update as of Jan 28, 2024

My doctor was a miracle worker and so very kindly spent and extra 1.5 on my 1st surgery. On my last follow up appointment, we both agreed that I don't need a 2nd surgery!!!! I'm so relieved and super excited to get back to my normal routine.

But boy did those bills, addional expenses and loss of income build up. The total amount still added up to just over $22k. Thank you so very much to all that have donated and show their support! I'm less than $6 away from my total goal.

This is my Breast Story...

Many of you may not be aware, but when I was 24 years old, I had major reconstructive breast surgery. You see when I was a teenager I was put on a very toxic birth control shot that essentially convinced my body that I was pregnant. In turn I went from 115lbs-175lbs. My breasts grew from a AA cup to a DD for many years. When I came off the medication and worked it completely out of my system (along with a lot of diet and exercise), I went back down to a A cup. At the age of 24 my breasts were completely deflated and deformed. They did not look like they even belonged to me. I struggled with body depression and I would cry when I looked at myself naked in the mirror.

When I finally showed my father, my Ultimate SUPER HERO, he walked out of the room and began to cry as well. That angel of a man scrapped together the money I needed to reconstruct my breasts. That was the last gift he gave me before he died suddenly 3 months later.

Fast forward to this past year. I started noticing that my lymph nodes under my left armpit were starting to get enlarged and tender. My wife and I spent several months looking for doctor that we trusted that was covered under our insurance. Then more time trying to get scans. Months passed as I'm sent to New Braunfels and San Antonio trying to get approval for additional scans (No imaging in ATX is currently excepting my insurance).

Then at the end of November, my left breast implant fully ruptured. It was incredibly painful and super uncomfortable, as my left breast is now 2 sizes bigger than my right. This is because my body is rejecting it with the rupture. We've since had to self pay for additional scans here in ATX and they were able to confirm that I have had a slow, silent leak, for what they imagine to be about a year, followed by a full on rupture. The silicone that has attached to my lymph nodes has left me feeling lethargic for months and honestly a bit spacey.

As many of you know, my primary income comes from teaching dance. I'm now struggling to teach at my full ability because most upper body movement is out of the question. I'm unable to dance, workout and run or lift heavy objects. The physical struggle has also become an emotional one as movement is my life.

These girls need replacing!!

The good news, is that this can all be FIXED!!! I have spent hours calling all around and have found a surgeon! Because of the extent of the situation, I will need 2 surgeries. The 1st one is booked for 12/21, the following will need to take place in March or April. It’s very expensive and unfortunately my insurance isn't going to cover any of it.

My wife and I have since taken out a short term loan so we can get me the help I need now, but honestly, we're not in a position to take on another major debt. So we are asking for your help.

Will you be our Angel or Hero and lend a helping hand? Our goal is to raise $22,024 to cover the cost of both surgeries. This doesn't cover my additional cost for medical supplies, medications, self pay scans or loss of income.

Our goal is to raise at least $9500 by Jan 15, 2024 so we can pay back our short term loan and the remainder by Feb 29, 2024. Will you help?
