My Sister Needs Support
The Crisis
It started as unexplained and infrequent fainting episodes then escalated to a fight for her life. Rachel recently suffered a massive subdural hematoma that required emergency brain surgery. To save her life and manage brain swelling, surgeons had to remove a portion of her skull. Her medical team was blunt - she nearly died that night, but she is a fighter.
The Reality
Rachel is the one in her community always willing to open her heart to those who are vulnerable. Whether you’re a friend or family member in need, or a helpless animal she happens to cross paths with, Rachel lends a helping hand with without hesitation. As the owner of her own dog-walking and pet-sitting business as well, she has spent years caring for many people’s most vulnerable companions. Now, she is the vulnerable one. Because she is currently missing part of her skull, a simple fall could be fatal. She requires 24/7 supervision and is strictly prohibited from working, lifting, or being alone due to the potential for stroke or seizure. She needs support through the recovery period after her upcoming follow-up surgery (cranioplasty) to replace her skull fragment.
How Your Donation Helps
Living far from family, my sister needs a “village” to get through this. Your contribution will go directly toward:
• 24/7 Care: Travel costs for family and friends to fly in to provide round-the-clock supervision.
• Basic Survival: Rent and bills while her pet-care business is on hold.
• Recovery: Trauma therapy costs supporting her through her second skull surgery.
How You Can Help
Rachel has spent her life caring for our best friends. Let’s show up for her.
1. Donate: Any amount helps cover her survival costs.
