I Need Your Help!
Hello my name is Rosa Johnson-Faison some may know me as Lady G. I have been doing gospel radio for the past 40 years and recently retired. I have been recovering from cancer treatment on and off for the past eight years. A few of you know the situation dealing with my grandson. My first-born grandchild who is very close to me has been in the Chicago area in the Detention Center since 2018. They are trying to charge and convict him with a crime I just believe in my heart he did not commit. I helped raise this child and I know the morals and values that were instilled in him and I just feel he is not guilty of this horrendous crime. He has never been in trouble, always been a respectful and obedient child, and did not have a record. He was an honor student in high school and received a scholarship to college. We had hired an attorney to represent him and we feel he just took thousands of our dollars that we sacrificed, took odd jobs, had fundraisers etc. to pay him. Some of you helped by supporting what we(myself, his Papa, mom, and aunt)did by giving money to help with trips, gas, food and hotel stay to visit him and attend court dates. We got a bad lawyer by not being from the area to know who was honest. My grandson has been waiting for trial for 6 years. He will not plead guilty for a crime he did not commit. He had ask for a speedy trial when he was first arrested but it didn't happen. I have tried to contact several agencies that advertise Pro Bono services but to no avail. We can't afford another Lawyer for their price is from $50,000 to $100,000. I hired a private investigator who is very good. I am paying him myself and my grandson's trial is scheduled for August 5 which is less than a month away and the Private Investigator has been working very hard and diligently and needs the balance I owe him before the trial starts. I need your help to get the balance to pay the Private Investigator and to travel to Illinois to stay and be there for my grandson during the trial. They have set aside 2 weeks for his trial.His dad has never been a part of his life. My daughter was a single parent mom. I reached out to his dad to help over the years but he refused. My grandson has three children that need him in their lives. I am believing God for a miracle! I don't want him to be another male spending years in prison to later find out he was innocent just so they can say they solved a case.
