Recently, we experienced the sudden loss of Rev. Chris Chi Won Lee. He was a loving husband, father of 3, and devoted friend to so many. He was happily married for 38 years to his loving wife Angalla (Un Joo) Lee and was the proud father for Daniel, Samuel, and Anna Lee. He was part of the Maryland Korean Church community for 31 years and planted Maryland Baptist Church of Love in 1989. He faithfully served the Lord for over 40 years. In addition to his wife and children he is survived by two beloved grandchildren.

In life, our beloved Rev. Lee embodied Jesus' love and was described by his fellow pastors as the most generous, kind, and selfless brother-in-Christ out of all of them. He made himself available whenever and wherever there was a need. Not only did he build a physical church where people gather and worship, he helped build up the people that gathered there as family. To become "one in the bond of love” was and is the mission of our church. His gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and contagious smile will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

Rev. Lee unexpectedly passed away from acute sepsis early in the morning of September 2, 2020. This devastating loss has left his family with an unspeakable grief and an overwhelming amount of medical and funeral costs. They are struggling to cover these increasing  costs on their own as this was a situation nobody expected or prepared for. With this fundraiser, we hope to alleviate some of the family's financial burdens and cover any setbacks Mrs. Lee and her children are facing.
