Emergency Appeal — Support Life-Saving Therapy for My Dad

Hi, my name is Sid.

I'm creating this fundraiser as a way to fund an emergency treatment for my father whose health has suddenly deteriorated owing to a combination of tumour growth in his brain (trigeminal schwannoma) and repeated episodes of pulmonary embolism.

His vital functions are being affected more each day. He can no longer walk on his own. His speech is slurred and difficult to understand. He has lost sensation on one side of his face and struggles to eat and drink because the muscles and nerves around his mouth are failing. Watching this unfold has been terrifying.

While surgery to remove the tumours will offer best chances for improvement in walking, with the cardiac co-morbidities, surgery is extremely risky, especially since he had a heart failure only 3 months ago.

After detailed consultation, the doctors at the Apollo Proton Cancer Centres have recommended Proton Radiation Therapy as the safest and most effective. This can precisely target the tumour, slowing or even stopping its progression without the high risk of surgery.

However, the cost of this treatment is overwhelming -- ranging from GBP 45,000 to 50,000 GBP (approximately INR 50-55 lakhs). Given the aggressive nature of the tumour, time is critical. We need to begin the treatment within the next couple of months.

I have set a fundraising target of GBP 20,000 to help cover a significant portion of these expenses. Every single contribution will go directly toward my father's treatment. If we can reach this target together, it will bring us so much closer to getting him the care he urgently needs.
