My name is Haneen AbdAlnabi, a writer and storyteller with a passion for sharing the stories of others. Today, I am compelled to share my story, a story of resilience, love, and the desperate need for a safe haven.
I've the opportunity to share my voice in my short time here in Canada, standing up for my people.
In the heart of Gaza, amidst the chaos of war, my family of ten is struggling to survive. My father, my 5 siblings with two of their partners and their two young children, are facing unimaginable challenges. I am their sole voice here in Canada, having arrived on October 4, 2023 as a refugee claimant.
Gaza, my family's home, has been marred by continuous conflict, and my family has lost their home not once but twice – in 2008 and now in 2023. I reach out to you with a plea for help in reuniting my separated family. I need your support to bring my family to the safety of Canada, a place where they can rebuild their lives, free from the shadows of fear and uncertainty.
I invite you to read a glimpse of the struggles faced by the youth in Gaza through my stories published on link to your stories. These narratives convey the harsh realities my and other families endures everyday.
When my family home was bombed October 10th, 2023 , thankfully my family survived. They were forced to say goodbye to their lives as they knew it. Now they suffer from hunger and fear and have no idea what the next day will bring. The truth is, they may not survive the next time bombs falls around them.
What weighs most heavily on my heart is the innocence lost for my two-year-old nephew, who’s first words in his life articulate fears of bombs and war and experiences of turmoil. Such fears we cannot imagine and we do not wish for any child ever to have to comprehend.
It is this heartbreaking reality that fuels my urgency to shield my family from further trauma, and to bring them to safety.
I seek your support, not just in words and thoughts and prayers, but in actions. I want my family here, safe with me and I need your help. Your generous contribution to this campaign will go directly towards the legal fees, travel expenses to get them out of Gaza into Egypt, and then to bring them to Canada. Every dollar brings us one step closer to reuniting our family and providing a sanctuary for those who have endured far too much.

The costs are very high to save the family. It costs roughly 5-7K per person to leave Gaza as of now to get to Egypt. The journey will be long, but with your help , the family will be reunited. **
