My name is Nour, I’m a 19 year old second year medical student at AlAzhar University of Gaza. My life has been good until October 7 - on this day, my life turned upside down. My life has been suspended the last 5 months and still counting, and idk to when. When will this end?

All I think of the last couple of weeks is that my life is passing under this situation of fear, death, starvation and poverty. My brother Ahmad is studying French literature and my brother Asad is a dental student, but due to this war, all our dreams of graduating have disappeared. I ask for your support so my family and I can evacuate Gaza and continue our education to achieve our dreams.

In the first week of the war, water and electricity was cut in the whole of Gaza, as well as random bombing everywhere around me. Yes, every time I have survived by a miracle, but I lost people I really love. The random bombing also reached my dad's office and completely destroyed it, along with the only source of money for my family.

This fundraiser is organized by Emma Li, a friend of Nour and the Qaraman family based in the US, with all funds to be transferred to Nour’s family in central Gaza via bank transfer. The recipients of the funds are Nour, her brothers Ahmad and Asad, and their parents, Mahasen and Atiya.

Currently, we’re hearing it can cost between 5,000 and 12,000 to to evacuate one person from Gaza. The goal is a tentative amount that will likely need to be higher. Nour’s parents are also in ill health - her mother needs access to crucial diabetes medication which costs $40 for 3 weeks’ supply.
