Campaign Description
We are a group of newly arrived Afghan women in Toronto. Although we ourselves face the challenges of immigration and adapting to a new country, we cannot remain indifferent to the suffering and humanitarian crisis faced by our compatriots in Afghanistan and Afghan migrants in neighboring countries.
In recent months, the forced deportation of Afghan migrants from Iran has alarmingly increased. Families who have spent years working hard in construction, factories, and urban services in Iran are now being sent back to Afghanistan without preparation, assets, or shelter.
According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), from January 1 to July 5, 2025, about 700,000 Afghans returned from Iran to Afghanistan, over 70% of whom were forcibly deported.
This return comes at a time when the situation in Afghanistan is extremely critical; the lack of security, growing poverty, severe limitations on basic services, and absence of accountable institutions have made living conditions nearly impossible. Returning to such an environment marks the beginning of a new chapter of hardship, vulnerability, and despair for many families.
In response to this situation, we have voluntarily and independently established the “Emergency Aid Committee for Needy Afghans in Toronto” to take a humanitarian step to support those affected. This campaign aims to raise immediate aid, build solidarity within the Afghan community in Canada, and invite compassionate Canadians to listen to the silent voices of the victims and respond.
Financial Transparency and Distribution Method
All aid will be given in cash directly to needy families and individuals. They will receive the funds to allocate according to their priorities and circumstances—for essential needs such as food, medicine, clothing, rent, temporary shelter, or transportation costs.
We believe effective aid respects human dignity. No one knows better than they do what is most essential for their survival and well-being.
Funds will be distributed through our trusted representatives, identified and evaluated by the committee’s technical team in border and vulnerable areas. The committee will act as financial overseer and ensure transparency throughout all stages.
Photo and financial reports of the campaign will be regularly published on the committee’s official pages. Donors can also join a “Monitoring and Transparency” WhatsApp group to receive direct updates on the campaign’s progress.

This initial amount will support approximately 50 to 80 needy families, focusing on those recently deported at the border who are in critical, shelterless conditions.
