Emergency Aid CZU Lightning Complex Fires
Donation protected
On August 16th, a cumulation of over 1300 lightning strikes sparked some 625 wildfires in California. These merged to larger fires which swept through some of the most beautiful and irreplaceable areas of Northern California.
Sadly, Boulder Creek did not go untouched, and buildings, including a dearly loved, non-profit summer respite camp, have been reduced to ash.
Some of our most dear members of the Boulder Creek community and summer camp family, Emily Harris, Kenny Beebe and Molly Norris, have lost everything.
Molly was unable to evacuate any items as she was working during the evacuation and is relying on the very minimal items she had in her car.
Emily was visiting family and has lost her entire home. She only had with her a tiny fraction of her belongings.
Kenny escaped with their cat and a bag of clothes.
Kenny and Molly are currently homeless during a natural disaster and global pandemic.
The purpose of this fund is to:
1. Provide stable, safe and homely accommodation immediately to the staff faced with homelessness
2. To pay for basic necessities such as toiletries, clothing, bedding and groceries immediately to the staff faced with homelessness.
3. To contribute to the replacement of electronics, homeware and any other items that perished in the fire that destroyed the homes and workplace of 3 wonderful people.
This is being organised by a friend and previous colleague of Emily, Kenny and Molly.
If you are able to help our dear friends in any alternative way please contact Harriet Brophy. I reside in the UK.
Emily is the beneficiary of the go fund me and will be able to withdraw the money. This will then be shared between herself, Molly and Kenny via bank transfer. All parties have consented to this plan of withdrawal of funds.
We have been fortunate enough that they are safe and well, please consider donating today to keep it that way.
PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS NOT A FUNDRAISER FOR CAMP KREM. To donate to rebuilding our beloved Krem please donate directly via their website. Alternatively the link is also on their Facebook Page.
