Ssebatta Cosma is the overseer of his village of mainly orphans and widows. He also distributes food, clothes, medicines, goods , and basic needs of living to the villagers from the money that Embrace the Children collects.

For the past few years, I have been touched by the increasing number of vulnerable children in Uganda and mostly in our community. Having been one of those children, I lost both my parents and had no brother or sister left with me, I really passed through a lot but thank God that He found me some Godly family that really helped me and wiped all the tears I had.

So from that moment on I had gotten to know what it really feels like to be an orphan or a vulnerable child with no parents or family to take care of you, but to cater yourself no matter what. When I saw these increasing numbers of vulnerable children among us in our community, I decided to start up a small helping agency as a community based organization (CBO) called EMBRACE THE CHILDREN in Mitukula Village, Kyotera town council in Uganda, East Africa to help these needy children and the elderly or aged people we call the grandmothers.

Having started with a few children due to limited resources, those mostly that needed a little help from myself, I provided food, school materials, medical care, and clothes to them. I saw this was making a great change in their lives, that is when I saw an opportunity to continue with what I was doing and also saw an opportunity of being a voice for these vulnerable children. The number went continued increasing and as I write we have up to 50 children now that we care for and provide for.

Having the number of children increasing every day, we have decided to start up a YouCaring page to help us solicit more assistance from Godly people and well-wishers to help us continue with the work we are doing. As a team we hope to embrace these children’s lives and the aged women in the community, so far having 20 aged women whom we are taking care of that are in need of food, medical care due to their age which is prone to diseases and a total of 50 children we are really making a difference in these children and aged women’s lives.

We provide food, clothes, medical care, and school materials to those children who are ready for school. Together we can make a difference and change the world that the children worldwide are living in.

This was an idea to get more well-wishers to lend an extra hand in providing more for these children. We are also having more projects like The Piggery and Chicken Project, drilling boreholes to provide water to the community, Cash Crop Growing Project, and more to help us become more self-sustained in the long run.

If you are able to donate any amount of gift via our YouCaring site to help us continue with the work we are doing, it would be much appreciated!

You can reach us via our email address: [email redacted] or you can send us any packages to our postal address: P.O. BOX 34310 in Kampala, Uganda as we shall appreciate your generosity towards us or you can receive our chairperson via email: [email redacted]
