A little backstory for anyone who isn’t up to date on what we’re going through, both of our kids were diagnosed this past summer with a Mitochondrial Disease called Leigh’s Syndrome. This affects their central nervous system, ultimately taking away majority of the skills they had over time. It’s a progressive and terminal disease. Asher has been given a life expectancy of 5, and for Emberly they believe a few years longer. We have doctor’s appointments frequently, and hospital trips for any illness, or issues we have with the kids from this disease. At the moment we’re struggling with keeping Ashers weight up and he will be admitted again to the hospital at any point if his weight drops. This has impacted our family tremendously in every aspect. We are really struggling financially since this last hospital stay we had with Asher. We only have one income, so hospital stays and Zach having to take off work due to them has really affected us.
