This is an appeal for funding for a struggling urban Bulawayo community. Food is now a problem. Many are sleeping hungry. There is nothing to eat. Conditions are simply hard.
We are trying to make the life of a few residents of Emandebele flats in Bulawayo go easy. Among the community members is a lady named Nomvelo Masikati. Here we are talking about a blind lady in Bulawayo who lives with a 6 year old girl. She is one of the community members struggling to get food by the day. Nomvelo Masikati's house got burnt and she has become homeless. She reached out to the community a month ago as she narrated her moving story. We felt sorry for her and she found temporary shelter at a local creche and she has been told to vacate the premises now. Karen Ngoma Musekiwa and Austin Sibanda in USA were raised in this community felt sorry for her chipped in a few dollars for her to buy food. We just want to make her and a few others’ lives simply move on under the most difficult conditions Zimbabwe has ever had. The economy is on a downfall and especially for the disabled and elderly people, life has become a double struggle, basic needs of a struggling person cannot be met because the cost of living keeps rising.
All we need now is to raise $1000.00 every month so that we can buy food hampers that cost usd18.00 each(including delivery) for the community from www.mrbrands.co.zw. The community could find basic stuff like beans, rice, maize, sugar, bar of soap, salt, mahewu powder, soya chunks, instant nut porridge, bread mix,tea sugar milk pre-mix, vaseline, 1 face washable mask, hand sanitizer and cooking oil to feed the suffering souls. Please do all you can within your means to make this possible. No amount is too big or too small in this cause. Thank you all, God Bless.
