Hi everyone,
My name is Jacob, and I’m turning 16 on January 1st. It’s just me and my mom, and things have been really tough lately. Arya is our family—our 4-year-old (almost 5) gentle giant with the softest heart and the sweetest soul. She’s the kind of dog who leans in for cuddles, makes us laugh every day, and has been our rock through hard times. She’s amazing with everyone and has so much love to give.
A few days ago, we found out Arya has pyometra—a dangerous uterine infection that can be fatal without emergency surgery. The vet says she needs an ovariohysterectomy (emergency spay) right away to remove the infection, or it could turn into sepsis and take her from us.
We’re in the Roseville/Sacramento area and working hard to find the most affordable options (like Placer SPCA, Sacramento SPCA, Prevent A Litter, and UC Davis), but even the lowest quotes are $2,500–$4,000 when you add bloodwork, fluids, meds, and recovery care. That’s simply out of reach for just the two of us right now.
Goal: $3,500
• Surgery & hospitalization: ~$2,000–$3,000
• Tests, IV fluids, antibiotics: ~$500–$800
• Pain meds & follow-up visits: ~$300
Every dollar goes straight to Arya’s care. If we raise extra, we’ll pay it forward to help another pet in need.
I can’t imagine celebrating my birthday—or any day—without Arya by my side. She’s too young and too full of life to lose. Please, if you can spare even $5 or $10, it would mean the world. Sharing this page helps just as much.
I’ll keep everyone updated with photos and vet notes as she recovers (I can’t wait to share her wagging her tail again!).
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving Arya a chance to stay with us.
With love & hope,
Jacob, Mom, and Arya ❤️
