Ryan’s Road to Recovery from Brain Injury

Hello, my name is Courtney I am starting this on be have of my brother Ryan. On April 4th, 2022, my brother, my very first friend in this world was stabbed in his. His attacker pulled a knife out, stabbed him and the knife went through two parts of Ryans brain. We almost lost him due to his injuries. The man that attempted to murder my brother was released from jail by a middlesex county judge and remains free until his trial date. 

Ryan will never be the same man, he is suffering from severe brain damage and is still currently waiting to have another brain surgery to replace the part of his skull they had to remove in order to save his life.

My brother is a hero he protected his family and was being a good samaritan also attempting to protect his neighbor from being attacked. Ryan has been fighting for his life since the attack happened and is living in fear everyday that the man that attempted to kill him will find him since he was released from jail.

Ryan is currently making progress but his injuries are severe. Ryan is unable to move the left side of his body, which is causing him to be in a lot of pain. Ryan is unable to walk, and he may never be able to walk again. His vision has been affected. He is completely dependent on someone helping him with everything he has to do, things like going to the bathroom, getting to physical therapy etc. Ryan may never be able to do anything on his own ever again.

My brother is a kind man and wouldn’t cause harm to another human being, he did not deserve this. He is worried about what his future may look like and is becoming depressed. 

My family and I have decided to start this fundraiser for him to help him move forward with his recovery once he is ready to be discharged from the rehabilitation center he is currently at.

Ryan does not have housing, he will never be able to work again, and he is going to need help paying his medical bills. Ryan will need special medical equipment in order to avoid bed sores.

Ryan is going to need a lot of support and financial help in the very near future because he has lost everything due to this attack.

Anything will help my brother at this time, even if you are unable to contribute to his medical expenses, donations of books, motivational cards, clothes, sneakers, anything to keep his spirits up would be greatly appreciated
