Help Ryan fight cancer

Hi, my name is Kim, I'm going to swim 50 lengths a day for 20 days in a 25metre pool, this will be a total 15.5 miles over the 20 days.

This is for a local young family!

Just one of the reasons I'm so passionate about doing this, is I cant believe the strength this little family has, as an outsider you would never know, you always see them wearing a smile, not knowing the battle they have been bearing! I would like to raise as much money as possible to help them fight this battle, and show them we are here for them too.

Here is a message from Ryan:

Hi my name is Ryan. Previous to my cancer diagnosis I was a young, fit and strong man. I had played football and had a strenuous job for the majority of my life. I had always looked after my self and my health. I have a beautiful wife and three amazing children (one being severely autistic). On the 27th January 2022 I fell poorly with a bad stomach then later develop severe jaundice ended up in a trip to accident and emergency. After numerous invasive tests, scans and investigations it was revealed I had cancer! The type of cancer I had meant that I had to undergo a massive life saving 9hour operation called the Whipple procedure. The cancer was ampullary. The recovery was painful and slow but we got there. It was curative and I was supposed to be having ‘mop’ up chemo. However things changed for the worse…. I had gone through all this surgery for it to be revealed again that this time it wasn’t curable anymore! The day they told me that I died inside. I have three children and a wife! How could this be happening to me??? I had to survive. At this point we had zero income…. I was self employed joiner and emma was a carer for our son Jake. We couldn't heat our home, clothe the children, feed the children. We had to turn to charities and food banks. I am currently going through treatment which is the standard chemotherapy, however I know time is ticking, my cancer is growing again. I don’t want to die…. I have a young family I want to see grow up and be there for them. There are treatments privately, holistic treatments to help me heal, and many more things I can be trying to access to help me fight this…. But we can’t do it alone! It’s time
