Elysse Lim's Cancer Fund

Donation protected

When the unfathomable happens, we look to our community for help.

Elysse Lim is an active, vibrant, and beautiful fifth-grader who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer in the span of two weeks.  Her parents, brother, family, and friends have rallied behind her while they face the coming months.

Rhabdomyosarcoma is a rare cancer that compromises the soft tissue of muscles.  Only 350 children per year are diagnosed with this type of cancer in the US.  This devastating news has only been made harder as the cancer was only detected when it had reached other parts of Elysse's body resulting in a Stage IV diagnosis.

Just two weeks ago, Elysse was enjoying tennis lessons, swim meets, and everything a 11-year old enjoys in life.  Complaining of leg pain, Christine and Ed (Mom & Dad) took her to the doctor.  They never expected to hear the Stage 4 Cancer diagnosis once the tests came back.

Ed, Christine, & Edison will need to reserve all of their strength to provide Elysse much needed support on her journey of chemotherapy, radiation, and other treatments.  Ed and Christine will need to step away from work to help their youngest fight for her life at this time.

It seem surreal that so much trauma could happen to one family in such a short amount of time.  But it is happening right now, to one of our own.

We are asking with great gratitude that you find it in your heart to help.  Your donation will give Christine and Ed the freedom and flexibility to look for the best treatment options that may require using services outside of the family insurance network.  Elysse is currently at the Kaiser hospital and it is  uncertain how long she will remain there.  Her treatment plan at the moment involves chemotherapy for the next 12-15 weeks.  The path ahead is uncertain; blood tests are conducted daily to evaluate the next step and determine the next decision.  Your assistance will help relieve Elysse's family of financial stress as they navigate their way through this crisis.

Thank you from the bottom our hearts,

Family and friends of the Lim and Hamai families
