My Best Friend's Children-The Kust Children
Donation protected
June 2, 2024 is the day I lost my best friend, Elysia Kust, and her wonderful mother-in-law, Mary Anne Kust. It was the day both of their families' lives were shattered forever. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon, the unofficial beginning of summer for Elysia, Reid (her husband), and their children, Kamilah and Zack, because school was finally out. They planned to slow down this year and really enjoy summer together. Elysia was making a routine run to a nearby town with her mother-in-law to get groceries... a trip she had made over 100 times, when they were unexpectedly struck by a vehicle that failed to stop at an intersection. It was the worst news Reid could have ever received and something he'd never imagined... both his Mother and his Wife were torn from his life in an instant.
My best friend's family is devastated by the loss of them both. Elysia and Mary Anne were their whole world, their caretakers, and their biggest fans. For those that know the Kust family, you already know they are all givers and amazing pillars of their communities, and they would never be comfortable asking for handouts, but I have sat with their family and I see how this horrible tragedy changes everything, especially for Elysia's children. Reid will need to somehow manage things alone and be there for his children who lost their mother and their grandmother. At 13 and 11 years of age, they are active children. Kamilah loves to dance and is a part of the Equestrian club. She would love to learn to golf and participate in theater. Zack is much like his dad and loves to hunt, trap, and fish. Reid never imagined this happening to their family, who would?
I'm devastated that my friend will not be there to continue to raise her children. She always put them before herself. She loved them more than anything in the world... far more than her chickens and Bret Michaels (everyone who knows Elysia knows how much she adores her chickens and Bret Michaels)...and I know she would be so thankful for anyone willing to help her children. My hope is that she can rest in peace knowing we will take care of them together. Please donate and share. If you are not comfortable with this method of donating, the family has additionally created a fund at the Coleman Associated Bank branch. Additionally, Witts Piggly Wiggly in Crivitz can accept your donations at the service counter. Your love and support mean the world to their family. Thank you. ~Heather
