Update- Today started like any other post chemo day, but ended with disappointment and resolution. This evening the doctors at Dallas Children’s told Kathryn and Elyse that they were not comfortable proceeding with transplant even if she was in remission. They have given up. WE have NOT! She is 3 weeks into this round of chemo yet were dealt this blow one week before bone marrow and projected transplant. Thankfully, Kathryn and David had a call with Seattle Children’s Hospital yesterday and were told that they are more aggressive and would happily accept her if she wasn’t able to proceed with transplant in Dallas. To say we are disappointed and upset is a gross understatement, but we are resolute in our determination to find the right hospital and team to help Elyse beat AML. Tomorrow Kathryn and David will be calling Seattle, Texas Children’s and St Judes to figure out next steps. At this point, the only sure thing is she will not be staying at Dallas Children’s. They will move wherever and forever how long is needed for to get Elyse the right team and treatment to BEAT AML.

My intelligent, beautiful and loving Goddaughter Elyse has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid
Leukemia. She faces a tough battle which she WILL overcome with her strength, willpower and perseverance and the support of her incredible family, Kathryn, David and Rocke, as well as extended family and friends.
They will need all of our love and prayers over the coming months. I’m creating this as a
platform for us to offer our support for Elyse
and her family as we all know how expensive
this process will be including intensive medical treatment and all of the extra accommodations which will have to be made to protect Elyse during this global pandemic.
Thank you for any help you can give. I know
Elyse and her support team will be eternally grateful.
I’ll give updates as the situation unfolds.
