Ely's fund to regain her sight

Hi, my name is Shireen. If you've not heard of Ely's story just yet, i'll briefly explain about her reason for needing surgery.

So my beautiful girl Ely had to be reluctantly rehomed about 4 year ago due to personal circumstances she was about 3/4 year old then.
I got a call out the blue just over a week ago to say she'd been handed in at a vets in the same area i rehomed her (Blackpool) and my details were still on her chip, i explained she wasn't mine anymore but i would be more than happy to come and pick her up to which they replied she was in a bad way. I got there and they brought her out and she was completely unrecognisable, just skin stretched over bones, not a single muscle to even be felt on her body, her big blue eyes would have been the only thing recognisable to me and even they were gone, covered in cataracts leaving her blind. I sobbed and held her wondering how anyone could let my girl get so far gone. I feel overwhelmed with guilt that i let her leave me to go and be neglected like that.

I took her straight to my vets and they found she was now diabetic which has been left untreated since developing while under the care of her last owners, lack of treatment has also lead to cataracts also. The vets and Dog warden are building a case of neglect against her last owners as they'd never seeked vet treatement and said they just assumed she had cancer basically. She'll now be staying back home with me for the rest of her time. She will be needing regular vet treatment, injections of insulin 2 times a day for the rest of her life, controlled and strict diet, routine checks to keep an eye on her blood sugars etc. Insuring her is proving diffcult given all the life long care she already needs but i'm managaing to scrape enough together to afford the extra cost in the mean time, My biggest goal is being able to afford to give her the chance to see again and have her cataracts removed. I've been quoted approx £5500 to take her to Penrith and have surgery which has an extremely high success rate and after all the suffering this girl must of been through, it's the least she deserves. So please if you can help me at all fund a life changing operation for her and see those beautiful blue eyes again i would be eternally greatful.
