Elyor's Olympic journey Pedro Judo
Donation protected
Elyor has decided to begin his lengthy adventurous journey to become an Olympic Judo Champion. In the fall of 2018, Elyor will be moving to Boston, Massachusetts to train under the guidance of Big Jim Pedro, Jimmy Pedro and Travis Stevens. Elyor will also be attending college in the Boston area. In order to do this, Elyor needs our support. Our goal is to raise $15,000 throughout the next several months so Elyor may live at the Pedro’s athlete house and train at Pedro’s Judo Center.
Elyor’s new coaches will include legendary judo coach, Big Jim Pedro who has over 50 years judo experience, coaching 4 Olympians to winning 6 Olympic medals including the USA’s first Gold. Jimmy Pedro, one of the most decorated judo players in American history, having won two Olympic Bronze medals and was 1999 World Champion. Travis Stevens is now a coach after his own success as three-time Olympian and 2016 Olympic silver medalist.
Elyor’s first year of training at Pedro’s Judo Center will need to be all self-funded. This obligates us as his family, friends, teammates and judo supporters to help him financially. There is a saying it takes a village to raise a child. The same is true for making a champion. Let’s be that village and help Elyor make his dreams and goals become a reality.
PLEASE DONATE USING THIS GOFUNDME ACCOUNT FOR ELYOR SERIKBAEV TO UTILIZE FUNDS FOR ATHLETE HOUSING RENT, JUDO TRAINING FEES, PERSONAL TRAINER FEES AND NUTRITION.
After his first year at the Pedro’s, Elyor will become eligible to receive Pedro’s Team Force Club funding and hopefully be sponsored by companies such as Hatashita, Fuji and Ippon Gear.
But for now, please be generous and donate to support this respectful, hardworking young man to reach his full athletic potential. Submit donations as soon as possible. Elyor will be signing a training commitment contract with Jimmy Pedro and will be required to place a deposit to reserve his spot in athlete housing.
You may donate in person at two Cleveland area clubs. Donations are being accepted at Ararat Judo (Ghazar Grigoryan and Elyor Serikbaev) and Chu to Bu Judo (Paul Jordan and Lorey Edwards) Checks payable direct to Elyor Serikbaev or cash.
If you prefer your donation to be tax-deductible, you may also donate through the following:
All check donations can be made payable to:
US Team Force Judo Boosters Club, Inc
mail c/o Pedro’s Judo Center
19 New Salem St
Wakefield MA 01880
And specify in the memo line
Donation for ELYOR SERIKBAEV
PAYPAL is also an option, [email redacted]. Please specify in the comments section that the donation is specifically for Elyor Serikbaev otherwise donation will go into general fund rather than Elyor’s athlete account.
It is a 501c3 account so all donations are eligible to be tax-deductible.
The Team Force Booster club is a reimbursement only account which Elyor may use toward competition, training and travel expenses. Elyor will be required to submit receipts for any reimbursements he receives from his personal booster club athlete account. The athlete housing rent is not an approved expense which is why we have the additional gofundme option as rent will be his most costly expense.
Thank you to everyone who has already donated. We look forward to the continued support from our family, friends and judo community to help this young man reach for the stars.
