Elida (Ely) Garcia, a compassionate, selfless mother of four children passed away on October 5th, 2022. Ely was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2020 and received successful treatment until this year when it unexpectedly returned more aggressively. Ely continued to fight for her life in intensive care until her last breath beside her children and husband Art Tafoya.

As a single mother, before meeting Art, Ely dedicated her life to working multiple jobs at a time to provide for her children. And yet she still somehow always managed to make time to listen to friends and family around her and help anyone in need. 

Ely was an empathic woman who made anyone she crossed paths with feel like family. Losing her this past week has been devastating, and unfortunately, her family has been left unprepared for the high cost of medical and funeral expenses. Please donate and help the Garcia’s with the financial needs they’re enduring— most importantly please help them  honor Ely’s memory and say their last goodbyes.
