Hi everyone! On December 20th, my family went through an awful discovery. Our cat, Elvis, had thrown up blood all over the house. He was lethargic, and was not the same cuddly, energetic cat we know and love. We rushed him to the vet, and he had blood taken and x-rays. We then found out he might have an obstruction, so off to the animal hospital he went. Once there, we discovered a large obstruction via ultrasound. Our poor baby was in serious pain and discomfort, and needed emergency surgery to remove the obstruction in his stomach and intestines. Those few hours were some of the hardest, and we didn't know if it would be the last goodbyes we said to him. Thankfully, the surgery went well, and they were able to remove a large Christmas ribbon from Elvis' stomach, through his intestines, and to his colon. This would just be the start of his recovery. He is still not eating, in a lot of discomfort, and is fighting off a fever. He had to have an NG tube put in to help remove fluid from his stomach. Elvis is expected to stay at hospital until he can show signs of eating and no more discomfort. Our family has not been the same since Elvis has been sick, and we will continue to do anything we can for him. Other than this, he is a healthy and loving cat, and a member of our family. Although we will do anything we can to help save our boy, unfortunately the vet bills are very high, coming up at almost $9,000. If we could even raise a quarter of that, it would really help our family and baby boy, especially during the holiday season. Thank you so much in advance to anyone that has reached out asking about Elvis and how he is doing. He is the best cat, and we cannot imagine life without him.
