Help Save Elvin: Our Sweet Maltese Needs Urgent Medical Support
Hi, my name is Sophie, and I’m reaching out with a heavy but hopeful heart.
Our beloved dog Elvin, a gentle 2-year-old Maltese, has been fighting for his life in the ICU at the University of Florida Animal Hospital. What began as a sudden urinary blockage has led to a heartbreaking cascade of complications — including kidney failure, severe blood clotting, seizures, and neurological instability.
Despite everything, Elvin is still fighting. He’s shown signs of awareness and recovery. His MRI showed no bleeding or clots in the brain — a miracle in itself. But he remains under sedation, needing round-the-clock care, seizure control, and ongoing neurological observation.
As of July 7, we’ve already spent $14,672, and the estimated cost has risen to $17,000. It will be re-evaluated in the coming days. Elvin is also expected to remain in the hospital for at least another week, which could require an additional $15,000 or more. (Update: As of July 11, we’ve exhausted all our resources and have spent $18,745. On July 12, Elvin is scheduled for a major surgery, raising the estimated cost to $25,000). Our funds are running out, and we can no longer obtain 0% APR credit cards. These costs cover:
• Emergency hospitalization and ICU care
• Seizure control and sedation medications
• MRI and neurological diagnostics
• Catheterization and specialized urinary care
• IV fluids and oxygen support
Elvin means everything to us. He’s family. We adopted him along with his littermate, Ariel, and their bond is deep and loving. Watching him fight this hard for his life, knowing he still has a chance, we can’t give up now.
Your donation, no matter how small, will go directly to his medical care. Even sharing this campaign would mean the world to us.
We are praying for a miracle — and you can be part of that miracle. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us give Elvin the fighting chance he so deserves.
With love and hope,
Sophie & Brant
