Elsy’s medical and support fund

Donation protected
A daughter, a sister, a friend and mother to 4 children; Weston, Wayne, Wyatt, and Everly.

At just 33 years old, Elsy was diagnosed with stage 3 Urothelial Carcinoma, otherwise known as gallbladder cancer- a type of cancer seen in elders. A few weeks later, Elsy had a procedure to place a urethra stent to filter urine from her kidneys. Unfortunately, this did not solve the symptoms and pains she was having. Two months later, she went back to the emergency room for uncontrollable pain. A CT scan revealed she had a large tumor pressing onto her vagina. Something that we feared was spreading. She was referred to a OB GYN for a Pap smear, the news knocked her down once again informing her that she has advanced cervical cancer and will need to have a biopsy completed.

This devastating diagnosis came in October 2023, three months after a misdiagnosis. Elsy’s battles started the afternoon of October 13, 2023 after she had her biopsy completed when her urethra stent was removed and 2 biopsies taken which lead her to extreme blood loss that almost costed her life.

Due to the diligence of the doctors and new findings they were able to temporarily stop the bleeding with over 8 blood transfusions, emergency radiation, vaginal packing, and the lists goes on. She was able to become stable. Through the biopsy, doctors noticed that the large tumor has lots of blood vessels being the reason for the blood loss. Due to this, she was admitted to ICU with a lengthy hospital stay…She had faced her first battle of cervical cancer stage 4A without warning.

Elsy is a fighter and the motivation to see her children grow is keeping her going. For now, she is being treated with a combo of radiation and chemo, 5 days of radiation and 1 day per week of chemo and will be reassessed with scans to determine if the tumor dies off and the cancer isn’t spreading. Unfortunately, surgery isn’t seen as an option as of right now. The side effects are keeping her in bed and not allowed her to do her daily activities with her children and doing things around the house for her family.

The one thing Elsy doesn't want to do is to give up faith. She is currently having to depend on family to help with transportation, helping take care of her children, medical expenses for ongoing pain killers (that are not being covered by the insurance), and family expenses.

The goal on this fund is that we can all unite in our hope to help Elsy in any way.

By donating, we can alleviate the mounting financial and emotional pressure she is facing. It will give her the opportunity to explore alternative avenues for treatment beyond what the hospital can offer and for a healthy diet and expensive protein shake that is helping her hold down.

Sending blessings and thank you to each and every one of you who has been part of her support system. Every word of encouragement, prayers, and every message sent is appreciated.

With gratitude!
