As you can imagine, a 14 day (and counting) stay in the pediatric ICU comes with a hefty price tag. And not just for the fancy tubes and machines Elsie's been sporting over the last two weeks. Everything from getting a hotel room so they can sleep, to parking and meals requires additional out-of-pocket costs for Moriah and Greg to simply be nearby.
While we don't expect to be able to cover every cost incurred, easing the financial burden of the little expenses will be a huge blessing for them. Thank you so much for your generosity, prayers, and your willingness to help.
Is this the first you’re hearing about Elsie? The short story is, she was born with a rare genetic condition called Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome. (Only one in 50,000 babies born have WHS.)
WHS makes everything a lot more complicated for her. This latest health event Elsie's facing started with her catching the flu and has turned into an ICU stay that started on February 28th and is still going. It's involved multiple organ failures, cardiac arrest where we'd thought we'd lost her, and enough ups and downs to make even the most veteran of roller coster enthusiasts a little queasy.
You’ll find more of her story and can follow updates on Elsie’s webpage.
