Hi, I am Hayley, the mother of Elsey- Rae. Elsey-Rae is a little force to be reckoned with, she is robust and fierce, her favourite past times are keeping up with her older brothers, playing at the beach, waterfalls, creeks and eating ice cream. At 22 months old I noticed Elsey-Rae had a reflection in her eye which was diagnosed as a rare tumour at the back the eye known retinoblastoma. Unfortunately it was at a late stage and they had to remove her left eye. Due to it being a grade four tumour, this meant she had to start chemotherapy immediately for her best chance of survival.
From my experience childhood cancer in babies and toddlers is only recognised by only one charity. If Elsey-Rae was three or older she would be applicable and recognised by a lot more. Which has lead us to here. We are raising money and the vibe to support her healing journey so she can access the best care and services to recover. To ease financial hardship for the care of Elsey-Rae's siblings, additional support, time off of work for medical treatment and for expenses during this time. We are deeply grateful for all the people who have showed up for Elsey-Rae and our family during this time. We hope that we can find our new normal again soon and reciprocate the generosity for others, it is appreciated.
Many blessings,
Elsey-Rae, Hayley, Michael, Duke, Dusty and Ethan.
