On Jan. 8 at 6:36 p.m., my grandma, Elsa Pardo, went home to be with her daughter/my mother, Victoria Pardo-Marrero, in heaven.

Elsa was born on Oct. 23, 1942, and was 80 years old when she passed away. She beat breast cancer and overcame having two surgeries on her carotid arteries. Elsa was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in Dec. 2021. She fought for 13 months before passing away from the disease.

She's survived by her husband, Louis Pardo, who is 81 years old, and her five grandchildren, son-in-law, and three siblings. Elsa lived a full life and enormously impacted so many people's lives. Between her sense of humor and the size of her heart, we were lucky to have an Abuela like her. Everyone who got to know her was better because of it.

Any amount you could donate would be super helpful, and we'd be eternally grateful. It would go a long way toward giving her the memorial she deserves as we lay her to rest.
