Eloise Odessa: Memorial Medical Fund

Donation protected
Chelsea is one of my dearest friends, and literally the kindest human I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Her sweet nature is infectious, and she was so in love with her baby girl Eloise from the very moment she saw two lines on her positive pregnancy test.

On October 15th, 2019 Chelsea and Andrew Montgomery gave birth to their beloved baby girl, Eloise Odessa Montgomery. She was born 20 weeks premature, and was already in the arms of Jesus at the time of her delivery. Chelsea and Andrew miss their daughter dearly, and as her due date of February 26th approaches, the pain of losing her is unbearable.

Due to the severe complications Chelsea endured surrounding childbirth; her and Andrew have been left with many expenses, including a large sum of medical bills. Additionally, the trauma of experiencing Eloise's birth and death requires continued professional support for both Chelsea and Andrew as they try to navigate their way through a grieving process they never thought they would have to face.

After finding Eloise no longer had a heartbeat, Chelsea was hospitalized to undergo a D&C. She was subsequently given the opportunity by her OBGYN to labor for Eloise on her own, which she did as an inpatient in a labor and delivery unit. After giving birth to Eloise, Chelsea and Andrew remained in the hospital and were able to say their goodbye's prior to making arrangements for Eloise's remains to be transported to the funeral home for cremation.

Weeks later, while trying to celebrate their wedding anniversary out of town, Chelsea began to hemorrhage in their favorite restaurant. She was rushed to the ER by ambulance, and subsequently required surgery to stop the bleeding and remove retained placenta fragments from her uterus. We are so grateful to God for protecting Chelsea's life.

Chelsea and Andrew are working daily to continue putting one foot in front of the other as they navigate the death of Eloise. The days are long, and the emotional tole on both of them is heavy. They need to be able to rest and to grieve the death of their daughter, but unfortunately they are having difficulty due to the medical bills. Each bill is a reminder of the death of their daughter, and it is so very painful.

They need to be able to spend time together, go for a walk and grab coffee, or have a date-night at home making pizzas. They need to be able to get in the car and drive for an overnight road-trip just to clear their heads if they want to. I have organized this fund with the intent of alleviating some of that financial burden for them so that they can focus on healing and spending time together as husband and wife. As friends + family of Chelsea and Andrew, so many of you have asked how you can support them during this time of mourning. Any contribution, large or small, is so very appreciated and we cannot thank you enough for surrounding them in love and support as they mourn the death of Eloise Odessa.

With love and gratitude,
Lia E. Hoppel
