Help send Eloise to the moon
Donation protected
I originally started this Go Fund Me as a way to raise money to help Eloise with a sudden emergency surgery. Unfortunately, this fundraiser has turned into asking for help with final costs.
In the early morning of March 17th, I woke up to Eloise crying and unable to get comfortable. I sat with her for a little while, trying to calm her down until Kayla and I decided to take her to the emergency vet. They took x-rays to see if she had possibly eaten something. My sweet little goat was no stranger to eating things she shouldn't. She had previously survived two surgeries to remove foreign objects, making her a special patient. The vet recommended we take her to the Athens UGA Emergency vet to have a specialist do the surgery, where they are better equipped to handle her circumstance. Once UGA did some tests, they found she had fluid around her abdomen, and were unsure of the source. Upon operation, they discovered her intestines had twisted. She lost blood supply to them, and they were no longer functioning. The vet had to put her down on the table and we never got to say goodbye.
Rewind to less than six months ago, when we lost our other dog, Zoee. We invested a lot of our savings into trying to save her, but lost her in an also sudden circumstance, putting us way behind before we even started experiencing hardship from the pandemic. For the record, UGA was great and they did what they could to help us reduce the cost.
I know this is a hard time for everyone, Kayla and myself included. I would never want to ask anyone for help especially knowing we are all struggling. However, with jobs in education and the service industry, our income has been drastically reduced. Losing Eloise during this crisis is as exhausting as it is heartbreaking. If you can spare anything at all, it would be greatly appreciated. We miss them more than we could ever explain.
The funds will be going towards the vet bills from both emergency vets. Help me shoot my sweet girl to the moon where she can finally be free.
