Eloise is adopted!

Eloise was rescued  from the LA shelter when the wildfires broke out, they were euthanizing for space to make room for the dogs displaced by the fires in hopes to reconnect them with their owners. Posh Pets Rescue stepped up to help her and other dogs from needlessly dying. Little Weezie was transported on a van cross country and landed in the Posh Pets shelter in Long Beach. When she arrived she was tired, scared and sick. Posh Pets graciously named her after our beloved Nana who they pulled from the Brooklyn shelter for me to foster years prior.

A month had past after my Nana went to heaven and I noticed Eloise was still at the shelter so I offered to foster her. When she arrived to the hen house it was clear we wouldn’t be able to call her Nana so we named her Eloise after the beloved storybooks about the little precocious girl who lived at the plaza. The first few days we noticed that Eloise was likely abused, she cowered and screamed when approached and spent most of her days hiding in the crate. Over the past month and a half she has slowly came out of her shell and is learning to trust that we won’t hurt her. We believe that Nana sent Eloise to us because just like Nana, Eloise needs someone to be patient, love her and nurture her. 

We are raising money for Posh Pets as a thank you for bringing love and joy back into our home and helping us heal from the devastating loss of Nana by turning a heartbreak into a new journey of love while putting our energy into rehabilitating Eloise.
