Elmer Garcia Medical Expenses

I am Jacqueline Garcia, niece of Elmer Garcia. I am starting this go fund me account to help pay for his medical expenses.Meet Elmer Garcia, my uncle who most know him as "Meme". Meme is suffering from a number of things. It all started with a simple fever that wouldn't go down, then turned into a sever lung infection (pneumonia), now with kidney failure and his lungs working at 20%. After trying every treatment possible without success we as a family had to make a hard decision to put him on ventilator support. Meme has been in ICU for over 3 weeks now. He will continue to be monitored and cared for until his lungs are cleared and strong enough for him to breath on his own and his immune system strengthens. Meme has already incurred more than $30,000 in out-of-pocket costs for diagnostic testing, traveling and hospital stay. As such, in the months to come, there will be ongoing, abundant need for financial help. If you know Meme, you know him as a young 36 yr old who has devoted his life to taking care of his parents and the family farm in Mexico. Meme would not have dreamed of asking his community for this kind of support. But as we are running in circles, taking in the hard reality of this, we realize that it takes a village, a community to pull each other up. His parents (my grandparents) now in their 70's have now no physical way of taking care of the animals and crop fields, which was their main source of income. They relied heavily on Meme. And are sadly planning on selling things off to help pay for his medical expenses.
Meme would lighten up any atmosphere and revive your day with his loving smile and contagious laugh. He made friends any where and everywhere he went. He was the kind of person that was willing enough to do anything for you even if he had to go out of his way. Always joyful about the simple things in life. Our family is trying our best not to let money come in the way of being able to save a loving family member. We have been able to pull resources to begin the treatment. We urge you to please find it in your hearts to contribute and help us raise funds for Meme's urgent medical expenses. Meme iluminaría cualquier ambiente y reviviría tu día con su sonrisa amorosa y su risa contagiosa. Hizo amigos en cualquier lugar y lugar al que iba. Era el tipo de persona que estaba lo suficientemente dispuesta a hacer cualquier cosa por ti, incluso si tenía que salir de su camino. Siempre alegre por las cosas simples de la vida.
