On Thursday October 9th 2025, a housefire broke out at 396 Elm Street in New Bedford due to a faulty space heater on the second floor. The fire, which displaced all 11 tenants very quickly and claimed the life of one. Some are still scrambling for housing and organizing their lives. Anything will help get some (or all if we’re lucky) some assistance getting back on their feet.
