Help Elly pay bills & avoid houselessness

Hi y'all, my name is Elly and I'm a multiply-disabled journalist, poet, and community organizer who is full-time freelance. This is truly difficult for me to do as it always is whenever I've had to but I've gotta suck up my pride and do what's needed.

I am estranged from family and fully support myself and have for years. I do not qualify for disability from the government, and have made it work without a tried and true safety net for a decade and a half but there are times when it's just too difficult to make what I need. In October, I planned to take some time off work to recover from a difficult year that began with the deaths of multiple loved ones, including my cats—which cost me over $10,000 and put me in debt. I was then suddenly hit by the deaths of family and loved ones in Israel, Palestine, and Lebanon, and because I spoke out publicly about it, lost two jobs that I needed to pay my bills. To be clear I'm not fundraising for these loved ones.

October and November were spent acquiring new work, which I ultimately found and established, but because I went a month without steady income, it put me massively behind on bills including medical ones I'm struggling to pay. In November, I experienced the deaths of several more loved ones, and it further made doing as much work as I hoped to be able to do to catch up on bills much more difficult.

I currently do not have health insurance, have only afforded groceries because of the kindness of friends and loved ones, and had to pause my therapy sessions for the foreseeable future in order to not incur more debt.

At this point with all of the emergencies I've experienced in the last two months, I have fully maxed out my credit card and have $0 to my name, constantly living paycheck to paycheck until I'm paid by clients that are behind on fulfilling my invoices, including magazines I've written for, community projects I've done, and more.

I know this is not my forever and that I will be okay soon when I catch up on bills but for now, most of my payments for work have been slow or not yet fulfilled and the bills keep stacking up. I'd appreciate anything you can send my way and anyone who shares this as well. I know that I'll soon be in a better position again with more stability but for now am asking for any kindness people have to give!
