Help Ellis Downing get a new wheelchair

First of all thank you for taking the time to read our story, we know it's a long one but we truly appreciate it.
My name is Xan and I'm helping fundraise for a new electric wheelchair for my brother Ellis.
Ellis is a young man with complex disabilities including a partial chromosome deletion and spastic quadriplegia.
This means he is unable to walk or communicate effectively along with a host of complex medical needs requiring 24 hour care. Ellis' wheelchair really does act as his legs. Without his chair Ellis would be unable to leave the house as at present we understand he is only eligible for help with a manual wheelchair. Ellis is unable to operate a manual chair independently which leaves him upset and frustrated.
Ellis' current wheelchair has unfortunately broken down and no longer moves so he is using an old outgrown chair which we are very lucky to have access to but it does not meet his needs and doesn't have the same functions. As an adult he is not elligible for charity funding, as such he is having to raise money for his new chair himself.
His old chair was also self funded but is now beyond repair with parts no longer available to fix it and this has left us in the difficult financial situation of trying to find funds for a new up to date chair.
Ellis needs a chair with functions similar to his broken one. It can bring him up into a standing position enabling him to be on the same level as everyone in the room, this standing is vital physio for Ellis. Stretching his legs and working muscles he would otherwise be unable to use.
It lies flat allowing him to have personal care such as getting changed done whilst out and about, especially in places that don't have the facilities. This chair had been a life changer to Ellis and his family and losing the use of it has been very difficult to cope with especially as his wheelchair vehicle which took many years of saving for was adapted to fit it.
All the money raised from this gofundme will go towards the cost of a new wheelchair for Ellis with the functions needed. Any excess will pay for adaptations to allow the new chair to fit in his existing vehicle.
