Ellis Taranto path to recovery - throat cancer

This fundraiser is being established to help (John) Ellis Taranto with the medical bills from his throat cancer related surgeries (and the life-saving follow-up emergency operation). Ellis’s journey after being diagnosed with stage 2 laryngeal cancer began in June 2022. He completed 7 weeks of radiation to the throat region that had the most tumors in November 2022 in hopes of eliminating the cancer. Although the radiation provided some temporary relief it did not eradicate the tumors as anticipated. Breathing and eating became close to impossible causing tremendous weight loss. A decision was made to move forward with what was needed in order for Ellis to breath without restriction and be able to get the nutrition that was missing due to the throat constriction. A tracheostomy, feeding tube and partial laryngectomy ensued. Ellis is fighting hard to get through the healing stages. One day at a time. He would never ask for help but the bills are starting to pile up and we know any amount of aide will help him to focus on his healing from cancer. Ellis has a long road to recovery and we know he needs not to be distracted from the arduous process in front of him.
