Ellis Montgomery

Hi there, my name is Ellis Montgomery and I am being negatively and directly affected by current Iowa legislation that has recently been passed. I’m also very concerned about future legislation in our federal government. I have been blessed by wonderful people who are willing to set up a GoFundMe for me and future expenses I will have related to my transition. But a little about me first:

I am 20 years old and started my transition back in 2023. I am, for the most part, financially on my own and have paid my way through my transition up to this point. I love what I do and love who I am becoming.

I depend on my current careers for many benefits, including health insurance. Unfortunately, with the current and future legislation, I may lose my health insurance. This ultimately would mean paying for my hormones completely out of pocket.

Many people have reached out to ask how they can best support and help me. Financial contribution is one of the biggest ways I can be assisted right now. While we cannot immediately change what has transpired through legislation, I would benefit greatly with assistance in building savings that would be used specifically for my continued care, thus removing a large amount of stress in my life.
