Thank you so much for taking the time to read Elliott’s story.

Elliott Aubin is our 7-year-old nephew. Elliott is in grade two at Saint-André School in Beaumont and plays football for the Beaumont Bears. This is his second year of football. He was awarded Most Improved Player for his first year, and MVP for two regular season games this year. He also loves soccer, the Oilers, video games, Lego, and playing with his many cousins and friends. When asked to describe Elliott, his cousin said, he is kind, playful, good at sharing, and has a generous heart. He was awarded the Brother André Award for showing love, compassion and kindness, a perfect reflection of the wonderful person he is.

A few weeks ago, Elliott began experiencing recurring headaches and an upset stomach. On October 21st, our sister Jamie took him to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton AB. They arrived at 9:30 in the morning, and by 1:30 that afternoon, doctors had completed a CT scan and discovered a brain tumor. That same evening, Elliott underwent a procedure to relieve the pressure in his brain. Early the next morning, on October 22nd, he was taken in for an eight-hour surgery to remove the tumor.

Thankfully, the surgery was successful, and the doctors believe they were able to remove the entire tumor. Elliott has been recovering like a champ, showing incredible strength and bravery every step of the way. However, his battle is far from over.

The next steps for Elliott are to undergo Radiation and Chemotherapy. Treatment needs to start right away. Elliott and his mother Jamie, will be traveling to Florida for 8 weeks for Proton Radiation Therapy. When they return to Edmonton he will start chemotherapy, which will take approximately 10-12 months.

In just two weeks, life has been completely turned upside down for the Aubin family. Both of Elliott's parents, Matt and Jamie, are off work to help support Elliott, as well as try and keep some normalcy for their other two children Delilah (9) and Miller (5). They are a very close-knit family and being apart is going to be a challenge. While thankfully AHS covers a lot of the cost, there will be many other out of pocket expenses. That is why we are raising funds to help with the many unexpected challenges that come with this diagnosis.

Many people have asked what they can do to support the Aubins, and we thought this would be a great way to help. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, prayers, and support for Elliott and the Aubin family. Any donation, no matter the amount, will help lift some of the burden so the family can focus on what matters most, helping Elliott tackle this, and get back to being the MVP he is.

If you would like to donate, but are not comfortable with GoFund me, please feel free to contact myself, Mark or Matt directly.
