Elliot’s Hip Surgery

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

My sweet kitty Elliot has been diagnosed with a congenital hip defect. At not even 2 years old this is incredibly sad news to hear. He needs corrective surgery called a Bilateral Femoral Head Ostectomy. This restores his mobility by removing the ball of the ball and socket joint. The muscles of the leg will initially hold the femur in place, and over time, scar tissue will form to provide cushioning that is referred to as a 'false joint'. This will provide him with pain free mobility.

His prognosis with this surgery is excellent and most animals do extremely well once this is corrected. Without the surgery he will have a low quality of life and will be in constant pain. Currently he is struggling to even get up and is in very visible pain. The sooner we can get him on the schedule for surgery the better. I normally wouldn’t ask for help but financially I can’t swing this on my own. Any help would mean the world to us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
