My name is Elliot Smith and I am a student at Christ's College in Sunderland. I am participating in an expedition to Peru in 2025.
This will be a four week expedition and will include community development work, environmental projects and wildlife conservation. It will also include a five day trek to Machu Pichu.
The core objectives of this expedition are to undertake projects in order to:
- Raise the educational standards of developing communities within a rural district of Peru
- Raise the living standards of developing communities, within a rural district of Peru
- Assist with ongoing wildlife conservation programs to preserve biodiversity and protect vulnerable habitats.
This expedition is extremely important to me because I feel that I will acquire and develop many important life skills such as Leadership, Communication, Team building, Independence and Problem solving.
I am particularly looking forward to the interaction with local communities, learning about a different culture and language to gain a deeper understanding of how other people live.
