Ellie's Transition Costs

Hello! My name is Courtney and I've created this fundraiser on behalf of my beloved co-parent, Ellie Jackson.

If you know Ellie, you know how amazing she is. If you don’t, let me fill you in.

Ellie started the incredible journey to transition about three years ago. I don’t think I need to explain how much bravery it took to reshape your life in your mid-thirties. It hasn't all been easy (especially in the current political climate). But it's DEFINITELY been worth it. I’m proud of her every single day.

Ellie is an incredible mother to our 5-year-old daughter, who thinks Mommy Ellie hung the moon. There’s nothing she loves more than having Ellie read to her or help her build new toys with the “yellow box” (KiwiCo STEM activities). Ellie’s also a dedicated friend and deeply committed to her communities (hey nerds!), and a cherished daughter and sister.

It’s time for the next step(s)

Ellie's gone through an incredible journey of self-reflection and self-discovery to embrace her true identity and her friends and family have been cheering her on. But now, she needs a little more help as we prepare for the next big step: transition surgery.

With your help, Ellie will be able to begin the prep-work needed to qualify for the surgery as well as the surgery itself before the end of this year. It's important to complete all steps in the same year, for insurance purposes. This way she only has to meet her full out-of-pocket maximum once. And with the current anti-trans legislative push, it’s even more important to seek out these surgeries immediately so they cannot be interfered with.

Ellie has an incredible medical team lined up that’s ready to help her begin the process. Now’s the time for us to rally around her to make this happen.
